My Kid Review
Marvelous Margot Makes Art is a delightful picture book. With the help of young Margot Blake, Pat Blankenship explores many ways of making art—shapes, lines, colors, collages, and more. The story’s rhyming pattern will delight children. Throughout the story, Margot explains to the readers (and the unnamed adult in the story) how she creates her art, encouraging others to do the same.
Linden Eller chose collage to illustrate the text. This style fits the text of the book well.
Art teachers, classroom teachers, parents, and caregivers can use this story as a springboard for art activities with their children.
Marvelous Margot Makes Art is an excellent book to add to the picture book section of a K-12 Christian (or any) school library.
