Summary
Lies have kept them apart for eight years.
Now the truth could destroy them completely.
Bomb squad leader Tag Monroe’s world is shattered when his sister and her foster sister are abducted by a human trafficker. Eight years later, the two of them have been miraculously freed. As thrilled as he is to be reunited with his sister, Tag has lingering questions.
How did Jae-won Lin, the third foster sister, elude capture that night? Why didn’t she call the police or Tag to let them know what happened? And where has she been for the last eight years? He loved Jae once, but he can’t let her back into his life until he has more information.
Unfortunately, time is running out. Someone powerful is coming after Jae, bent on revenge. If Tag can’t get to her before her mysterious pursuer, Jae could take the answers to all Tag’s questions to her grave.
Along with any hope the two of them might have to find their way to each other again.
The explosive Christian romantic suspense series two sparrows for a penny by multi-award-winning author Sara Davison continues with this on-the-edge-suspense love story that might finally answer the question: Where was Jae?

My Adult Review
Sara Davison has done it again and crafted an “I couldn’t put it down” novel. It continues the story of the three foster sisters who left their foster home because they overheard a conversation about their foster mother’s health. They thought they’d be separated and placed in new homes so they left. Unfortunately, as we learned in the previous 2 books, two of the girls ended up in a human trafficking situation. Every Bird That Falls is the story of the third sister Jae.
Davison tells Jae’s story through “8 years ago” chapters that are spread throughout the book with other chapters telling the “present day” story. As her story unfolds it is unbelievable how she was also being used by the man who rescued and cared for her.
The story does have a suspense element to it which may make it difficult for some to read – for me it just meant I had a hard time putting the book down and thinking of other things as the storyline continued running in my head even after I stopped reading.
I’m hoping that there is another book coming in the series or that there will be another series with these characters as there are some unanswered questions at the end of Every Bird That Falls.
Every Bird that Falls is definitely an adult Christian suspense novel. Because of the suspenseful situations and the references to the sex trafficking trade and drug running, I recommend that librarians read the book for themselves before placing it in a K-12 Christian school library. It is definitely a high school only book if placed in a K-12 library.
I received a complimentary copy of Every Bird That Falls. This is my honest review.
