About Fingerprints in Frost
a Wild Blue Wonder Press anthology
Fingerprints in Frost is a Christian short story collection featuring nine cozy stories of seeking God in the messy joys of homemaking and family. This anthology contains touching stories from contemporary and historical fiction authors with a mix of different subgenres—all written to the glory of God!
‘Til Spring’s Coming by Jessica B. Brown
A young immigrant wife and mother anxiously awaits her husband’s return over the course of a hard winter, coming to terms with the fact that she doesn’t need to get through it alone.

Winter’s Returning by Hosanna Emily & Chloe Field
In the Adirondack mountains, twins Arlo and April find their farm life, tight-knit family, and their church under upheaval as a seemingly “new” view of the Gospel rocks everything they’ve known. This kind of grace will either shatter everything or draw them together.
Embracing Joy by Heather Flynn
Corinna Hawthorne’s journey to find joy in the present is tested when she has to take in her goddaughter, bringing her dream of motherhood to the forefront of her mind.
My Roots Shall Run Down by Katja H. Labonté
Relocating to the English countryside for her health was the last thing Myriam Carey wanted to do … but can mothering her little cousins teach a lesson which brings true rest to her soul?
His Everyday Fingerprints by Erika Mathews
Messy fingerprints of four high energy children prompt an overwhelmed mama to begin to see and to heed amid her chaos the promptings of the Spirit and the fingerprints of God.
Keepsakes by Kellyn Roth
Two noble families, still wrenched by the loss of a father and a mother many years ago, celebrate Christmas while navigating the echoes of grief and the bittersweet joys of moving on.
Like Honey of Bees by Bethany Willcock
During the harsh winter of 1948, Autumn Greenwood struggles to care for a cottage full of small children and pets—while trying to help the mysterious stranger who arrived on their doorstep one stormy night, confused and shell-shocked, without a single memory of her past …
My Adult Review
Roth, Kellyn, et. al. Fingerprints in Frost. White Salmon, WA: Wild Blue Wonder Press, 2025.
A Wild Blue Wonder Press anthology with stories by Jessica B.Bron, Bethany Willcock, Kellyn Roth, Amberly Kristen Clowe, Chloe Field, Hosanna Emily, Heather Flynn, Elyse Cotton, Erika Mathews, and Katja H. Labonte.
Kellyn Roth always puts together an enjoyable anthology of stories. The stories in Fingerprints in Frost look at the messiness of life. One of the things I enjoy about Roth’s anthologies is the way they speak into my life. I always find the stories relatable.
Readers will most likely relate to at least one of the messes of the characters in these stories. The messiness of families separated for work. The messiness of unexpected emergencies. The messiness of family life. The messiness of relationships. The messiness of misunderstandings. The messiness of infertility. And, so much more. Through it all the characters see the fingerprint of God in their lives.
If you live a messy life, you will likely find encouragement in the pages of this anthology.
While Fingerprints in Frost was written for the adult audience, there was nothing to keep it from a K-12 Christian school library. It is appropriate for high schoolers.
I received a complimentary copy of Fingerprints in Frost. This is my honest review.
Author Bios & Links
Jessica B. Brown
Jessica B. Brown is a historical fiction author, avid bookworm, and daughter of the King. She writes gentle, hope-filled character-driven stories that reach for your hand and touch your heart. A born South African, she currently lives in the picturesque North Island of New Zealand with her parents and two younger sisters. When not writing or reorganizing her bookshelves, she’s trying out new gluten-free recipes or playing her favorite songs on her guitar. On any given day, you can find her feverishly typing away at a new story idea, holed up in her room reading, or unsuccessfully evading her very loved but talkative sisters.

Amberly Kristen Clowe
Amberly Kristen Clowe loves to inspire emotion in her stories. She hopes her readers see a piece of themselves in her words, and Amberly prays that God is glorified in all that she does. Amberly is at home with a steaming cup of coffee and a bit of something sweet. When she isn’t writing, you can find her walking her big and sassy dogs with her husband, serving at church or in a local homeschool group, or homeschooling her children.

Elyse Cotton
Elyse’s love for writing was sparked by imaginary games she played with her sister and best friend when she was young. It was one of these games that inspired her largest passion project, a never-ending dystopian series, and fostered her desire to pursue a career as an author. When not working on her writing, Elyse can be found reading a good book, spending time with her friends and family, and studying to become an American Sign Language interpreter.

Hosanna Emily
Because of the grace of God, Hosanna Emily is a warrior poet: a warrior because God is her Father (which makes her a crazy-in-love princess) and she lives fighting to be faithful for the day Jesus’ Kingdom will come and a poet because she loves beautiful, truth-filled words. Thus, she fills her journal with poetry, her blog with urges to live for Jesus, and then writes books on top of that—from fantasy to middle grade and more—stories to inspire radical living for the coming King who is worthy.
On a normal day, you may find her homemaking on the family farm, going on long walks, singing worship, cooking healthy food, playing Frisbee, randomly dancing the Virginia Reel, dreaming of Jesus’ coming Kingdom, and enjoying life with her family of more than a dozen amazing people and her church family of even more.

Chloe Field
A daughter of the Most High, Chloe Field absolutely loves that He has called her to be a young writer + music artist for His kingdom.
Currently a student of the Author Conservatory, she enjoys writing a variety of genres, but her passion is Biblical fiction. Her deep love for Israel and God’s chosen people guides many of her writing projects, and she especially loves bringing the Old Testament to life, exploring the stories of figures in Scripture that are often forgotten. The thrill to her is writing authentic retellings of the past that highlight God’s goodness in the hard times.

Heather Flynn
Heather Flynn finds solace walking among the trees and trails, nurturing her love for God’s creation and the stories it holds. Heather’s passion lies in crafting Christian fiction that touches hearts and brings smiles. She enjoys both stories set in times of the modern day and way back into the days of old, especially around the time of the American Revolution. Her locally self-published devotional has resonated with readers, and she dreams of someday creating children’s picture books to inspire young minds. She is relatively new to the publishing world but is enjoying the journey so far. Beyond writing, Heather enjoys various crafts, including jewelry making, photography, drawing, soap carving, and wood burning.

Katja H. Labonté
Katja H. Labonté is a Christian, an extreme bibliophile who devours over 365 books in a year, and an exuberant writer with a talent for starting short stories that explode into book series. She is a bilingual French-Canadian and has about a dozen topics she’s excessively passionate about (hint: that’s why she writes). Katja writes both contemporary and historical fiction, as well as non-magical historical and contemporary kingdom fiction, and covers themes of worth, love, peace, and Christian growth. She spends her days enjoying little things, growing in faith, learning life, and loving people. You can follow her life journey, find free books, browse her services, and more on her website and blog littleblossomsforjesus.wordpress.com.

Erika Mathews
Erika Mathews writes Christian living books, both fiction and non-fiction, that demonstrate the power of God in the life of a believer, transforming daily life into His resting life. Her kingdom adventure novel series Truth from Taerna features spiritually challenging and refreshing adventure and unique Christian twists on cliched plots. She’s a homeschool graduate with a Bachelor’s in Communications, a Master’s in Biblical Ministries, and a passion for sharing Jesus Christ and His truth. Outside of writing, she spends time with her husband Josh, mothers her little ones, reads, edits, enjoys the great Minnesota outdoors, plays piano and violin, makes heroic ventures into minimalism, clean eating, and gardening, and uses the Oxford comma.

Kellyn Roth
Kellyn Roth is the author of ten historical romance novels with strong Christian themes, a touch of humor, and messy situations that put the main characters through the wringer and force them to face hard questions. Her stories include The Chronicles of Alice and Ivy, a Christian Victorian family saga. Her goal is to create stories that matter, to delve into the deepest and sometimes the saddest parts of life, and to return from the darkest valleys resplendent in the light of hope and the fullness of joy. When not building her author career, Kellyn is likely drinking iced coffee with her husband, getting lost somewhere in the Pacific Northwest with her friends, or watching period dramas and facetious comedies with her border collie.

Bethany Willcock
Bethany Willcock is a Christian South African homeschool-grad who loves cats, coffee, classical music and art, history, and all things vintage. She lives in a seaside cottage and runs a home bakery called BakerStreat, named after the classic Sherlock Holmes books. When not in the kitchen she spends her time combining her favourite book genres, mystery and historical fiction, into new tales with God-honouring themes. So far, Bethany’s published the first three What Came After mysteries – an Edwardian-era detective series set in London with connections to Sherlock Holmes; had a 1947-set mystery, And As She Talked, published in the Novelists in November anthology; and won the historical fiction category of a writing contest with her microstory, Beyond These Walls of Sorrow. As well as writing, reading, mysteries, and history, she is also passionate about classical music and art and spends her free time painting.
