Merrick, Regina Rudd. Reframing Trust. Morrilton, AR: Scrivenings Press, 2025.
RenoVations Inc. book 5
Summary
FBI Special Agent Julia Rossi returns to Clementville to investigate signs of criminal activity linked to a case she’s struggling to leave behind. After losing her fiancé to infidelity and her partner to prison, trust has become a foreign concept. Can she trust her job, her instincts, or even her faith?
Carpenter Eli Reno isn’t thrilled when his exploration of the tunnels underneath Clementville not only uncovers evidence of recent criminal activity but also forces him to work alongside the woman who broke his friend’s heart.
As the two explore the dark tunnels, Eli battles his anger over his friend’s betrayal, while Julia fights to regain her footing in a world full of broken trust. But in the depths below, can they learn to rely on one another—and on God—to uncover the truth and find healing in each other’s hearts?

My Adult Review
I have enjoyed getting to know the Reno family over the course of the RenoVations Inc. series and I am sad to see the series end.
The saga of the tunnels under Clementville continues with new evidence of illegal activities. We do get a glimpse into the lives of most of the Reno clan but Reframing Trust focuses on Eli Reno. Julia Rossi, the FBI agent we met previously, also figures into the story as a main character. The book ends with closure to the saga of the underground tunnels and a new relationship to celebrate. I am sorry to see the series end – but then I always am at the end of a great series like this one.
There is nothing in this book (or series) to keep it from being added to a K-12 Christian school library. It would be appropriate for eighth grade and up.
I received a complimentary copy of Reframing Trust. This is my honest review.
