Summary

Everybody should have a BOO, do you?

Filled with silly rhymes, this colorful book will have children laughing, inspired and feeling good by the end.
Children will instantly be drawn to the vibrant colorful illustrations.

Parents and teachers will love the message that kids can be EXACTLY who they are.
We all have a subconscious, and we all know right from wrong and good from bad, but when we are little
and we have our own thoughts and ideas (and sometimes no filter) we think naming our dog “CAT” is awesome and the best name ever. But you’re only 2 years old and your dad doesn’t let you because he is afraid of what the world might say.

These children have to go on their own journeys and believe in their own inner thoughts to begin to realize that what they think and what they look like is MORE than OK…. with a little help from BOO of course.
Ending with a positive message this book is a must read!

My Kid Review

I Am Me really contains 3 separate stories. Archuleta-Davis looks at three siblings in a family. Each child is, of course, unique. The story includes a cute ghost-looking character named Boo who encourages the children when they are feeling down about the ways they are different from their siblings.

Solomiia’s illustrations are colorful and somewhat whimsical. They compliment the story and give children a visual of the text.

I can’t help but wonder if the stories couldn’t be separated into three different books and fleshed out a little bit – tell a little more of the story of each child with possibly some interaction between the child and a parent. I realize it is a picture book but at the very least I think there should be a chapter break of sorts when the story switches to a different child.

There is nothing in I Am Me that would prevent it from being added to a k-12 Christian school library. It is appropriate for preschool and primary-aged children.

I received a complimentary copy of I Am Me. This is my honest review.
