My Kid Review

I Don’t Want to Say Goodbye! is another book in RK Vetter’s I Don’t Want to series. This one is about a difficult topic for young children – saying goodbye to a grandparent when they die. Grandma tells her grandchild – “[Grandpa] had to leave us…Each of us leaves when our own bell chimes.” The living grandparents talk about how much they looked forward to the arrival of their grandchild and welcomed him to their family. The story does give hope of having grandparents waiting for us when our time comes with the closing line “We will each wait for you again… And When it is time, we will welcome you in!”

I Don’t Want to Say Goodbye! could be a good addition to the picture book section of a K-12 Christian school library. It is appropriate for pre school and early elementary children.

I received a complimentary copy of I Don’t Want to Say Goodbye! This is my honest review.
