My Kid Review

No matter how hard parents try to keep them from their children, kids pick up bad words. RK Vetter has written I Don’t Want to Say I’m Sorry to address this issue. Her text and illustrations will help children understand the message of the book.

The main character says a bad word in a mean voice when a friend breaks one of his toys. Dad tries to get him to apologize for the word and the way he spoke but the boy refuses. After some discussion Dad leaves the character alone to think about the situation. In the end apologies do happen.

I Don’t Want to Say I’m Sorry would be a good addition to the picture book section of a K-12 Christian school library. The book is meant for preschoolers and young elementary-aged children.

I received a complimentary copy of I Don’t Want to Say I’m Sorry. This is my honest review.
