My Kid Review

Finkel tells the story of a young girl who dreams of going to space. Her teacher initially discourages this dream, but Hannah Arielle does not give up. One night, after a dream, Hannah determines she will learn all she can to go to space one day. 

One thing I didn’t really like about the book was the portrayal of the teacher as not accepting the child’s dreams and the defiant attitude of the main character – although it is understandable. 

Marchiusm used a cartoon-like style for the illustrations. The illustrations go beyond the text. The style and characters are consistent throughout the book.

Space Dreams is appropriate for a K-12 Christian school library. It could be added to the picture book section for young elementary students.
