My Kid Review
I love choose-your-own-adventure books for kids. It allows them to re-read a book multiple times and have it be a different story each time. I was excited to see how Eric Braun twisted The Emperor’s New Clothes into a choose-your-own adventure book.
I found most of the choices to be interesting – a western theme and a space theme. The foodie theme had a bit too much “puking” for my likes.
The book does include at least one use of minced oaths which may be a concern for some audiences. There is also a section of “puking” and vomit which some audiences may not think appropriate.
I encourage K-12 Christian school librarians to check out Eric Braun’s version of The Emperor’s New Clothes themselves to determine if it is appropriate for their audience.
I received a complimentary copy of The Emperor’s New Clothes. This is my honest review.
