My YA Review

It has been a long time since I read a “choose-your-own” book, if ever. I love the concept. It gives readers a little control over what is happening to the characters. It also provides countless ways to read the book. Faith Colleen Weaver provides two choices for readers at the end of each chapter.

Kaley is not happy with her current life, but how can she change it? She hears that the king is looking for those who are willing to leave their life behind and join him in the palace. Kaley decides to leave the shadows behind and follow the king. The question is what path will she take – that is up to the reader.

Once Upon a Shadow would be a fun addition to a K-12 Christian school library. It is appropriate for middle school and up.
I received a complimentary copy of Once Upon a Shadow. This is my honest review.
