Summary

Big Thoughts for Tiny Tots introduces preschoolers to the fundamentals of faith with a series of simple questions and answers right on their level.

Teaching your toddlers and preschoolers about the Bible doesn’t have to be a daunting experience. It can be as easy as starting to ask them a few simple questions. Little kids love to ask questions—it’s how they learn! In Big Thoughts for Tiny Tots, author Jared Kennedy presents sixteen questions and answers in catechism style to introduce children ages 2–5 to the gospel message.

Each question and answer is accompanied by a Bible verse to show that what’s being taught is rooted in the Scriptures. Bright illustrations will keep children engaged. As families read this book together again and again, repetition will instill the message of God’s Word in children’s little hearts and minds for a lifetime.

  • Follows a simple question, answer, Scripture format. For example: Q) Who made the world? A) God did. He made everything! “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1 CSB)
  • Bold, colorful illustrations by Trish Mahoney will capture and hold young children’s attention.
  • Part of the Beginner’s Gospel Story Bible series and a companion resource to the Beginner’s Gospel Story Bible Curriculum for Toddlers and Preschoolers.

My Kid Review

If you are looking for a catechism-style book for your preschooler, Big Thoughts for Tiny Tots is one you should consider. The book contains 16 question and answer 2-page spreads. Kennedy has crafted questions that many children ask. The questions range from “who made the world” to “when is Jesus coming back.” Answers are given in simple terms that a child can understand.

Mahoney used bright colors to illustrate each question. Her illustrations may help children better understand the answers to each of these theological questions.

Big Thoughts for Tiny Tots would make a great addition to any children’s library, especially one that caters to preschoolers. Parents, caregivers, and teachers will find this book helpful in answering the questions of little ones.

I received a complimentary copy of Big Thoughts for Tiny Tots. This is my honest review.
