Summary

Does it count as princess-napping if the dragon is just trying to take a nap?

Elizabeth is a princess in a tower, but she’s scared of heights. It’s a tradition in her kingdom, and an honor, to have a tower bedroom, so what’s a princess to do? When a dragon moves into her suspiciously clean room, monarchs and palace officials try to deal with the moody intruder. Will they be able to negotiate with the dragon to hand her over? With a flurry of characters helping out, including the determined prime minister and a reluctant knight, surely this problem can be solved! But will the princess be able to keep her secret?

My Kid Review

I had high hopes for Enough Elizabeths, after all, there is a dragon. Heather Harris Bergevin created a cute story about a princess who is afraid of heights and leaves her tower bedroom empty. A dragon decides to hibernate in her bedroom. When the maid finds the dragon, Elizabeth’s secret comes out that she doesn’t like heights.

Unfortunately, the story wasn’t as engaging as it could have been. However, if your child enjoys princess stories or dragon stories, they will enjoy Enough Elizabeths.

Lexi Hall used a cartoon-like style to create the illustrations. Her images complement the story well.

There is nothing in Enough Elizabeths that would prevent it from being added to the picture book section of a K-12 Christian school library. It is appropriate for preschool and primary-aged children.

I received a complimentary copy of Enough Elizabeths. This is my honest review.
