My Kid Review
I am always on the lookout for a cute picture book that supports children. Standley has created a delightful picture book that supports children who “don’t fit the mold.” He celebrates those who don’t just walk but move in creative ways, those who don’t just talk but express themselves verbally in many ways, and those who invent, create, and explore.
Here’s to the Silly Ones is an affirming book for those who are just a little different from their peers. I love how the book encourages creativity.
Hamill chose mice for her illustrations. Her drawings complement and extend the text well. I think Here’s to the Silly Ones is a great candidate for the Caldecott Medal.
Here’s to the Silly Ones would be a great addition to any school or home library. It is appropriate and has application for all ages.
I received a complimentary copy of Here’s to the Silly Ones. This is my honest review.
